Double Tisserand graphs for low-energy lunar transfer design

Tisserand graphs are a widespread tool for interplanetary trajectory and Moon tour design. They based on the Jacobi constant being an integral of motion in Circular Restricted Three Body Problem (CR3BP); as such, classical graph does not include perturbation bodies other than flyby bodies. Low-energy transfers Earth-Moon system make use combined Earth, Moon, Sun gravities, exploiting third body perturbations to reach with reduced transfer Δ v . The paper, therefore, proposes novel double graph, where level lines both Sun-Earth CR3BPs superimposed, portraying complex 4-body dynamics into single plot. Paths along such correspond trajectories utilizing dynamical effect or combination both. We show how can be efficiently used preliminary design Weak Stability Boundary transfers, lunar resonance flybys, weak captures any them.
